I have installed Chrome from the google website for Ubuntu 64 bit. However, when I go to launch it from the shortcut in the Application Manager it will not open.

When I try to open it from the command line I get the following:

Ok just tried the following:

    The answer below is right: Your current Ubuntu version doesn't support the current Chrome. Only thing you can do is upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04 (or 17.04, or downgrade to Ubuntu 14.04, but I wouldn't recommend this). – dessert Sep 15 '17 at 16:34

Do you use an old version of Ubuntu?

Upgrading to the latest Ubuntu (LTS recommended) version will solve your problem. Check this out Can't launch Chrome on ubuntu 15.10

  • I prefer using [LTS](https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LTS) (Long Term Support), which are being supported for years. I recommend upgading to Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS. When you upgrade, tell me if you had any success. – George Mathioudakis Sep 15 '17 at 17:52
