Text in both the default terminal and iTerm2 are plain white when running git commands and I want it to be properly colorized.

I've reviewed this question and this question and verified the following:

  1. git config --global color.ui auto
  2. iTerm2's Minimum Contrast setting is NOT set to max (it's set to 10%)
  3. I've added export CLICOLOR=1 and export TERM=xterm-256color to my ~/.zshrc file, rerun source ~/.zshrc, and reopened iTerm2
  4. iTerm2's setting for Preferences > Profiles > Terminal > Report terminal type is set to xterm-256color

I'm not sure what else to do and nothing seems to be working. Git colors don't work in the default terminal on my mac either. I'm on macOS Monterey Version 12.1 if that makes a difference. Thanks!
