If you search this question up almost all the websites you will find will tell you that windows wallpapers are at C:\Windows\Web but that is for the default wallpapers that comes with windows, what im looking for is the wallpaper that is being used. So as an example lets say i download a image set it as a wallpaper and than delete that image, even though the image is deleted the wallpaper will still stay there with no problem which means the image is stored somewhere else inside that computer, where is that place?

I searched register but I couldn't find anything related.

  • @Moab your solution did not work and the file name was not found and I believe that is because the images name changes to a name for the lockscreen background because the same happens with the desktop wallpaper which is stored at `%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\CachedFiles` – CoolGuy Jan 30 '23 at 05:18
