What type(s) of performance improvements to expect between architectures using QPI versus a FSB?
While comparing Intel's two new i7 processors, I noticed that the only difference between them apart from the L3 cache size and CPU speed is that one has QuickPath Interconnect, and that seems to account for most of the massive price difference…

Processor with higher FSB than motherboard can support
I have an ECS P4VXASD2+ (V5.0) motherboard, which supports a 533 MHz FSB.
I want to put in a Pentium 4 3.2 GHz processor (Socket 478) with an FSB of 800 MHz.
Would this be possible? Would the FSB of the processor just be limited to 533 MHz?

Why would my notebook only turn on after several attempts?
It was working perfectly fine until I changed it's Celeron processor for a Core 2 Duo today. Now it only turns on 1 out of 5 or 6 attempts. Sometimes at the 1st or 2nd attempt. It's pretty random by the way.
This is what happens:
I press the power…

When comparing a few motherboards, I noticed that some have their FSBs listed in MHz (as usual) but a few others have them listed in MT/s. Is there an easy way to convert or translate the value in MT/s to MHz?
