One day, `cpan install` failed me. I stared at the error stream in shock. In that moment of silence, I saw that instead of telling people "You just need Perl 5.005, LWP, MIME::Base64, Digest::MD5, URI::Escape, ... ... ... ...", expecting them to get it all on a day CPAN was up, and hoping I didn't forget anything...

I could just write in a language that included the batteries. I've been happily using Python ever since.
