I have been unable to run apt get update command properly due to many errors that seem to suggest some repositories are unavailable. I tried 'apt-get clean' but it did not help. I have the following message (Ubuntu 18.04)

Does this answer your question? [What can I do if a repository/PPA does not have a Release file?](https://askubuntu.com/questions/866901/what-can-i-do-if-a-repository-ppa-does-not-have-a-release-file) – Artur Meinild Mar 22 '21 at 11:14
  • *eoan* or 19.10 is EOL and after releases go EOL, many repositories are deleted. if you check your *eoan* source you'll note they only provide packages for supported releases (your *eoan* isn't supported) – guiverc Mar 22 '21 at 11:23
  • Excuse my lack of linux knowledge... I tried 'sudo ppa-purge https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu eoan-cran35/', but i get an error on this command - E: The repository 'https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu eoan-cran35/ Release' no longer has a Release file.
