1Are you interested in preserving your data in case something goes wrong? – Organic Marble Apr 02 '21 at 13:03

I always suggest you do new install & restore your data from you normal backup. Good way to test that your backups include all your data & configuration files that you may need and list of installed apps to make it easy to totally restore. When (not if) drive fails you need that backup. You cannot have duplicate UUID, so if you use image copy, you have to manually change & edit all references to UUID. – oldfred Apr 02 '21 at 14:16
