my keyboard automatically prints "3"

i tried to disable the key on my laptop's keyboard using "xmodmap" , the key got disabled only in the terminal but it was not disabled in other applications is there any way to disable the key on other applications as well

Not very easy, but with this method you can effectively disable any action resulting from hitting the key. Better indeed work with a specific layout, so you can change to the normal layout if using another keyboard. – vanadium Sep 13 '21 at 14:42
