For my project, I was trying to install a specific version of Nvidia driver (515) to match it with specific versions of Cuda and Cudnn. I downloaded the driver using this link (https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/191961/en-us/). During installation, it asked something about uninstalling the Nouveau drivers. I went on with the process and at the end when I rebooted the system, I got stuck at this: /dev/nvme0n1p3: clean, 929887/20987904 files, *****/***** blocks (screenshot has been attached)

What I have tried till now:

  1. Logging in using the tty interface and purging the Nvidia driver and rebooting.
  2. Uninstalling and then installing ubuntu-desktop several times
  3. installing nvidia-settings again
  4. Tried almost all of the solutions here: "dev/sda1: clean, ..." This message appears after I startup my laptop, then it won't continue booting

None of the above has worked for me yet. What could be other possible solutions? My system specs are:

  • ASUS ROG GU502L
  • Intel core i7 10th Gen
  • List item
  • Nvidia GTX 1660Ti
  • 16gb RAM
  • Dual Boot with Windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04
