Ubuntu 23.04 (Lunar Lobster) is a non-LTS version released on April 20, 2023. It will go End Of Life (EOL) in January, 2024. Only use this tag if your question is version-specific. Don't use this to file bugs!

Ubuntu 23.04 is the 26th Regular release (non-LTS).

Notable features of this release include:

  • Linux kernel 6.2
  • A new, Flutter-based, installer
  • GNOME 44, including:
    • Addition of subtitles in the system status menu
    • Nautilus (Files) improvements (most notable: expandable folders option for list view)
    • Thumbnail view in the GTK file picker
    • Improved Mouse & Touchpad settings
    • Sharing of Wi-Fi network passwords using QR codes

Additionally, Ubuntu Cinnamon is an official flavor from now on.
