I was gifted a trust wallet with 3.78 bitcoin but it's a watch only wallet. I've been told that I have to pay 5% of my wallet's worth as a fee in order to have it activated. Is this true? If not, then some please tell me to to turn my watch only wallet into an active wallet? I do have the 12 word recovery phrase written down. I live on SSI and the value of this wallet would lift me out of poverty and allow me to renovate my home as well as have serious dental problems fixed. Thank you.

Does this answer your question? [Is it normal to be asked for an advance fee on a withdrawal?](https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/103891/is-it-normal-to-be-asked-for-an-advance-fee-on-a-withdrawal). Your "gift" is a complete fake - there is no money. Don't waste any time on this and certainly don't give any money to the criminals who are trying to trick you. – RedGrittyBrick Oct 31 '22 at 11:07
