Relative of mine gave a scammer remote control of his laptop. The scammer asked for money, which the relative refused to give. While relative didn't fall for the scam, I'm still worried scammer could have put some malware on the system while he had remote access. The Antivirus didn't detect anything but I don't trust that so was gonna do a factory reset just to be safe. Are there any viruses that can survive a factory reset or will the laptop be safe to use once I reset it.
