What is DMI Pool Data and why is it verified?
What is DMI Pool Data? Every time a computer here boots up it comes a message that says
Verifying DMI Pool Data.............
And then it comes:
AMD data changed...Update New Data to DMI!
What does that mean? Is there something wrong? Should I do…

Is possible for a manufacturer to fake the RAM limit in the DMI table?
I was thinking about upgrading my laptop's RAM. It currently has a 4096 MB module and a 2048 MB module, which I thought I could replace by an 8 GB module:

dmidecode --type memory showing wrong DDR type?
A few weeks ago I decided to upgrade my laptop memory. In order to determine which type I need I used the following command on my Linux box (Ubuntu 10.04, not inside VM):
sudo dmidecode --type memory
And the output was:
# dmidecode 2.9

Computer stuck at "Verifying DMI Pool Data"
I'm trying to troubleshoot this problem, I've had it happen before and I fixed it but nothing seems to be working.
My assumption is that since I can boot off the windows recovery disk this is purely an issue with corruption of MBR/BCD/Boot…

Machine keeps rebooting after hitting the 'Verifying DMI pool data...' stage
